In honour of Children’s Day on November 20th this year, MSRI hosted a fundraiser that showcased all of the work and achievements of their MSRI Schoolchildren and in remembrance of Alijah Gordon – who started it all.
If you weren’t able to join us on the day – here are a few highlights!
Our KG, Gr 1, 2, and 3 students performed “We all have rights”, a UNICEF song that brought many to tears. It didn’t help that the sheer level of cuteness was overpowering all on it’s own.
Almost all the grades hosted Games! Here we have one competitor challenging Grade Nine to win prizes. Everyone had a great time and all the money raised by the students is going to improvements around the school! Stay tuned to see the new additions.
While the chaos reigned around, a brief escape was offered in the history of MSRI. These boards illustrated the last 58 years of history as MSRI transformed from a publication institute to the pioneering NGO it is today.
A beautiful performance of “Scars to Your Beautiful” by Aleesia Cara. A little malfunction in the sound system was no deterrent and these singers came back strong in the evening.
The Bazaar outside offered incredibly beautiful handcrafted jewelry and henna.
The students offered their own artwork and suddenly almost everyone had face paint and cookies.
