I Care for Eye Care! Help Refugee Students and Teachers See Clearly
That would be enough to give anyone eye strain.
As our students have returned to in-person classes at MSRI school, we’ve noticed that many have come back with significant difficulties seeing the board. Many have trouble reading now, because they need glasses. Students who struggle seeing class materials struggle to remain engaged with their courses, and are more likely to stop coming to class.
This project is already underway; so far, we've screened 200 of our nearly 450 students, and have found that over half of those screened have some degree of eyesight problems that require glasses.
As a non-profit, MSRI faces challenges funding our many different programs and services for our refugee clients. We need about RM6000 in total for this project by the end of October 2022.
The impact is huge as your donation will help our students read and learn better.
Thank you!
Help Refugee Men Build Safe Communities for Women and Girls
EMAP is a 1-year intervention prevention program created by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and guided by the voices of women. EMAP provides staff in humanitarian settings with an evidence-based curriculum and field-tested approach for engaging men in transformative behavioral changes. The programme is not intended to be a stand-alone intervention; rather, it includes organizational efforts to address violence against women and girls.
Our goal is to cover costs for:
-Training EMAP Programme Facilitators
-Providing the Facilitators with a monthly stipend to support their livelihood in exchange for their service.
-Programme implementation costs (transportation, Internet data, communication, capacity building and administration).
-Technology updates for dissemination of progress and learning on EMAP to the public.
